Fancifull Gift Baskets and the 2011 Oscars
We’re still very busy every year preparing all kinds of Congratulations and/or Good Luck gift baskets for the nominees for all the awards shows, but especially for the Oscars. We also do a lot of Welcome Gifts for VIPs arriving in town for the ceremonies. This year was no exception.
The bags pictured here from E! Entertainment were sent to members of the foreign press on their arrival. What a fun thing to find in your hotel room! Welcome Gift Baskets (or gift bags) are something we do a lot of – for events like this, meetings, conventions and weddings. Bags or trays, as opposed to baskets, are especially good for hotels because the recipient is traveling and a basket is something they’re probably not going to take with them.
Fancifull Gift Baskets gets a gift from the Muppets

Wally & Terry holding the Muppets bag
Being in Hollywood, we send a lot of gift baskets to celebrities in movies and TV shows. Over the last couple of months we have been called upon to provide gourmet gift baskets and wine gift baskets for the cast of the new Muppet Movie being made by Disney. First of all, it’s just exciting that there is going to be a new Muppet Movie. Secondly, it’s so cool that we got to participate in some way.
But recently we received a surprise gift from The Muppets thanking us for all the work we did for them. So here are Terry and I (Wally) holding our Muppets Messenger Bag in our shop on Melrose. It will be a great new travel home for my laptop.
Other recent movie and TV projects we’ve been involved in include our appearance in No Strings Attached and providing gift baskets for Exit Strategy (made for TV starring Ethan Hawke) and The Game of Life, among others. We are currently working on a large project for TV Guide.
Fancifull Gift Baskets and The Oscars, 2011
Here at Fancifull we have a lot of history with the movies, TV and Hollywood in general. Wow, it was way back in 1999 that we were first asked to design the Emmy Baskets for the presenters at the Emmy Awards Show. The Emmy Gift Basket for the year 2000 is shown here. For about six years or so the gift baskets were really the “hot” thing, and we did them for all the shows.

Custom Gift Basket Of The Week: Glee
The most fun custom gift basket we created this week was delivered to the set of Glee for Kevin McHale who plays Artie on the show.
Our client had the small wheelchair, Glee megaphones and cheerleader pompoms. What happened next you can see here.
The Cristal champagne is sitting in the wheelchair that has Artie’s picture on it. The rest is strictly high school (or is it high camp?), containing lots of high-schoolish candies and snacks to set the right tone.
Gift basket projects like this keep things very fresh and lively here at Fancifull. Do you have a challenge for us? Maybe yours will be featured here as gift basket of the week!
