If you check around the web I'm sure you will find a plethora of basket companies that all look pretty much the same. In fact, I can predict that they will have the same two chocolates in most of the baskets. Some of these chocolates are okay, they come in pretty gold boxes and a lot of money is spent on marketing them in fancy magazines. At Fancifull, however, we go beyond the pretty face. We want to know the inner beauty, if you will, of the products we sell. We don't get fooled by slick packaging and heavy marketing efforts. Our question is always, "How does it taste?" This sometimes leads us off the beaten path.
For example, we found a chocolate master in Columbus Ohio who is as fanatical about his chocolates as we are. Daniel Cooper, founder of Pure Imagination, set up a chocolate lab in his grandmother's basement while he was still in high school. He mastered making chocolate from the bean up. And the lingering taste of the crème brulee truffle I ate a few minutes ago is still deliciously demonstrating how special Daniel's chocolates are.
Likewise with wine. We don't rely on ratings from the wine magazines to determine what wine we put in our baskets. We go to the vineyards, meet the makers, and taste lots and lots of wines. We then pick the best for the money. We go out of our way to find smaller producers, rather than the big guys you see in every supermarket. It isn't that their wine is bad. But isn't it fun to send something unexpected and delightful? I get a kick out of opening a bottle from some small producer for a wine connoisseur and knocking them out with something they haven't even heard of.
Let us knock the socks off of someone you care about.
